What a senior editor actually does here

Most vape content fails at the same place: a number nobody sourced. A puff count copied from a listing, a flavour count copied from a competitor, a charge time somebody guessed. Those numbers spread because nobody is paid to stop them.

Yusuf is the person paid to stop them. Every Hayati article passes through him before it reaches the site, and his job is to find the claim that cannot be defended and remove it. Serving on the shop floor for years taught him which questions customers actually ask, and a chemistry background tells him when an answer is technically wrong rather than merely vague.

The review gate: what every Hayati article passes through

An article reaches the site only after clearing five checks.

  1. Specification check. Every stated figure is matched to manufacturer documentation. A figure with no source is deleted, not softened.
  2. Regulatory check. The 20mg/ml nicotine cap, the 2ml pod cap, the 10ml bottle cap and the 18+ rule are verified wherever the article touches them.
  3. Claim check. No article says a vape is safe. Health framing routes to the NHS, and regulatory framing routes to GOV.UK or the MHRA.
  4. Audience check. The article is written for adult smokers and existing vapers. Anything that would appeal to under-18s is rejected outright.
  5. Answer check. The article has to answer the question a reader actually typed, in the first few lines, or it goes back for a rewrite.

What gets an article sent back

Unsourced numbers

A puff count, flavour count or charge time with no manufacturer document behind it.

Health claims

Any sentence implying vaping is safe, healthy, or a wellness choice.

Non-compliant products

Any recommendation touching a single-use disposable or a device outside TRPR limits.

Competitor-sourced data

Figures lifted from another retailer's listing, which are frequently wrong.

Why the flavour counts on this site differ from some competitors

Published Hayati flavour counts vary from 20 to over 60 across ranking UK retail pages for the same device. Hayati Pro publishes the verified catalogue figure instead: 62 on the Pro Max+, 41 on the Pro Ultra+, 21 on the Pro Ultra+ Shisha, 30 on the Finebar. Where our number differs from a competitor's, it is because theirs was never checked.

Working with the review team

Reviews on this site are written by Raeis Mitha, our lead reviewer, who tests each device before writing. Yusuf checks that draft against the manufacturer data and the UK regulatory position. Two people, two disciplines, one gate.

A disagreement between them stops publication rather than splitting the difference. An unresolved fact stays out of the article until it is resolved.
